The 125th Jayanti of Mata Ramai was celebrated with great enthusiasm.
Mahaupasika Meeratai Ambedkar has built a grand memorial in Vanand, the village of Mata Ramai's birth place.
This is the only example in the world of a daughter-in-law building a monument to a mother-in-law.
Honorable Dr. Bhimrao Yashwant Ambedkar Saheb, National Working President of The Buddhist Society of India paid floral tributes to the statue of Mata Ramai at the memorial at Vanand on 7th February 2023 on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Mata Ramai. Pujya Bhante Dhammapriya gave Panchsheel along with Trisaran. Later respected Dr. Bhimrao Yashwant Ambedkar hoisted the Panchsheel flag. Soldiers of Samata Sainik Dal gave general salute. After that the program of the meeting was concluded.
On the life of Mata Ramai, National Vice President Honorable Sushmatai Pawar, National Secretary Honorable Vaishalitai Ahire, Honorable Raginitai Pawar, Sunandatai Waghmare, Shinde Tai ,Bharatitai shiral and President of Maharashtra Bhikaji Kamble Saheb told some incidents of Mata Ramai's life in their speech.
The chief guide respected Dr. Bhimrao Yashwant Ambedkar Saheb said in his guiding speech that the memorial of Mata Ramai will be beautified in the future. There are many occasions of Mata Ramai. 14 of them will be installed in the memorial of Mata Ramai in the form of wall sculptures.
Mata Ramai's life span was only 35 years. She got married in the ninth year, that is, she lived with Babasaheb for 26 years. It is not important who lived how long, but how he lived, how he was useful to the society, society considers. So even after 125 years, we cannot forget Babasaheb and also cannot forget Mata Ramai.
Mother Ramai cannot study while studying Babasaheb.
Those doing PhD on Babasaheb will have to read Mata Ramai while studying. They have to understand Mata Ramai only then the PhD study on Babasaheb can be completed.
Mata Ramaich died on 27th May 1935. She was cremated in the burial ground at Worli. His 1935 death certificate was discovered. The place where Mata Ramai was buried has been secured and a memorial of Mata Ramai has been built there. There is a small statue of Mata Ramai. In the future, a statue of Mata Ramai will be constructed at that place in a magnificent form. This is the first time that a memorial of Mata Ramai has been done in this manner in a Mumbai cemetery. In this way an attempt has been made to give justice to Mata Ramai.
Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj considered Mata Ramai as his sister. Rajaram, the son of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, called Babasaheb uncle. When Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was going for foreign education, Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj asked Babasaheb that you are going abroad for education but what arrangements have you made for our sister i.e. Ramai. Otherwise I take our sister to Kagal. Self-respecting Mata Ramai told him that we are happy with the way Saheb has arranged us. We will stay here. This information is available in the letter.
National Vice President Honorable S.K. Bhandare, National Secretary and Head of Coaching Department Honorable S. S. Wankhade Saheb, National Secretary Hon'ble Rajesh Pawar, President of Maharashtra Hon'ble Bhikaji Kamble, General Secretary of Maharashtra Hon'ble Sushil Waghmare, Treasurer of Maharashtra Hon'ble Vijay Kamble were prominently present for this event.
